The subject of the discipline "Oncogenetics" is the genetic basis of susceptibility to cancer, molecular genetic mechanisms of initiation and progression of tumors. General ideas about oncological diseases, causes and mechanisms of cell transformation as a result of chemical, physical and biological carcinogens, the role of genotype in cancer are considered. Attention is paid to molecular genetic processes that are disrupted at different stages of cell malignancy, genetic control of angiogenesis and metastasis. The issues of cancer prevention and determination of individual risk of tumor formation are discussed.
