PR02. Apply modern information technologies, software and Internet resources for information support of professional PR03. Know and understand the basic terms, concepts, theories and laws in the field of biological sciences and at the border of subject areas. PR12. Demonstrate knowledge of the structure, vital processes and functions of living organisms, understand the mechanisms of regulation of physiological functions to maintain homeostasis of biological systems. PR19. Apply in practical activities methods for determining the structural and functional characteristics of biological systems at different levels of organization.

External form

1. Successful mastering of the courses "General Cytology", "Histology", "Zoology", "Physiology and Anatomy of Man and Animals". 2. Be able to independently apply knowledge of cytology, zoology, physiology and anatomy, etc. disciplines, work with scientific and methodological literature.

The discipline studies the laws of evolution, structural organization and functioning of neurons, nerve and muscle fibers, mechanisms of synaptic transmission of excitation between them. The course examines the structural and functional organization of neurons and muscle cells, the general mechanisms of excitation and its intercellular transmission, the organization and functioning of the contractile apparatus of muscle cells, pathological processes that occur in nervous and muscular systems. This discipline is taught in the amount of 90 hours. The course includes 2 content modules and 2 module tests. The discipline ends with an exam. Knowledge gained from the discipline "Physiology of nerves and muscles" can be used in research of physiological sciences (physiology of sensory systems, physiology of blood circulation, physiology of digestion, physiology of work and sports, etc.) and in other sciences (pharmacology; physiology, psychology, zoopsychology, etc.).
