PR03. Use theories and laws of mathematics, physics, chemistry and other sciences to solve problems of modern biology. PR04. Apply in professional activities methods for determining the structural and functional characteristics of biological systems at different levels of the organization. PR16. Choose methods, algorithms for planning and conducting field, laboratory, clinical and laboratory research, including mathematical methods and software for research, processing and presentation of results.

1. Successful mastering of courses "Virology", "General Genetics". 2. Be able to independently apply knowledge of molecular biology, biochemistry, microbiology, etc. disciplines, work with scientific and methodological literature. 3. Possess basic skills of targeted use of laboratory equipment and / or reagents.

The academic discipline "Laboratory Practicum in Virology" is a discipline of free choice of a student of the program for training specialists of the educational degree "Bachelor" in the direction of training "Biology", according to the training program "Biology". It is a basic discipline and covers the issues of practical skills in working with viruses, in particular the study of their physicochemical and biological properties and methods for studying the antiviral properties of substances. The discipline forms the basic skills of working with proteins and nucleic acids of viruses, is designed to master the methods of isolation and purification of viruses for molecular research, as well as serological and molecular methods for detecting plant viruses. The discipline generalizes the student's understanding of the main methods of working with viruses, and also provides the student with the opportunity to master the skills of planning and conducting experimental work using various methods and methodological techniques to solve a specific scientific and practical problem, statistically process the obtained data, and interpret the experimental results.
