Prerequisites and co-requisites
1. Successful mastering of the material of lectures and practical / seminar / laboratory classes in the obligatory academic disciplines of biological direction, which are taught to students of the educational level "Bachelor" in the first and second years.
2. Knowledge of the theoretical foundations of chemistry, physics, mathematics.
3. Knowledge of the basic principles of basic biological research methods.
4. Possession of basic skills in the use of laboratory equipment and reagents for experimental research in a particular field of biology.
5. Ability to present the results of experiments in the form of presentations and reports, to conduct a scientific discussion.
6. Ability to work with electronic databases and search for scientific articles.
Course content
Internship in biology is a mandatory educational component of the educational and professional program "Biology", the purpose of which is to consolidate and deepen the theoretical knowledge obtained by the student, as well as to acquire the necessary skills and competencies for conducting experimental research in various branches of biological science.
During internship, the student gets an idea of the methodology of conducting scientific research, gets acquainted with the principles of planning and conducting experiments, methods of biological research, rules for processing and presenting scientific results, algorithms for searching scientific literature and its critical understanding.
An important component of internship is the formation of an idea of the organization of science in Ukraine and the world, including information on the scientific areas of work of leading domestic academic institutes, scientific projects and developments of the National Scientific Center "Institute of Biology and Medicine", international grants, scholarships, schools, etc.
Practical training of education seekers is carried out at the National Scientific Center "Institute of Biology and Medicine", at the practice bases of the National Scientific Center "Institute of Biology and Medicine", in scientific institutions, at enterprises, and in organizations.
