Learning outcomes
PR01. Understand the social and economic consequences of the introduction of the latest developments in the field of biology in professional activities. PR02. Apply modern information technologies, software and Internet resources for information support of professional activities. PR03. Plan, execute, analyze data, and present the results of experimental research in the field of biology. PR05. Demonstrate skills in evaluating unforeseen biological problems and thoughtfully choosing ways to solve them. PR06. Apply models, methods and data of physics, chemistry, ecology, mathematics in the process of learning and ensuring professional activity. PR08. Know and understand the main terms, concepts, theories and laws in the field of biological sciences and at the border of subject areas. PR09. Comply with the provisions of biological ethics, rules of biological safety and biological protection in the process of education and professional activities.

Prerequisites and co-requisites
1. Successful mastering of the academic disciplines "Botany", "Plant Physiology", "Biochemistry", "General cytology", "Modern information technologies in biology", "Statistical methods in biology", "Microbiology", deepening the acquired knowledge and skills of practical scientific experimental work during the training practice in botany and zoology. 2. The ability to independently apply knowledge of botany, anatomy and physiology of plants, biochemistry, biotechnology, etc. discipline, perform laboratory and practical work, work with scientific and methodical literature. 3. Possession of elementary skills of working with materials and equipment, which are used in biological and chemical laboratories.
Course content
The course consists of sections on: biological diversity of archegonia plants, principles of their identification and classification, modern fundamental scientific and applied aspects of the study of archegonia plants in laboratory conditions and educational and scientific collections, practical significance and rarity of archegonias in flora of Ukraine; cultivation of plant cells, tissues and organs in vitro, use of isolated cultures for studying the processes of dedifferentiation, differentiation and morphogenesis; biological diversity of fungi, principles of their detection in natural biotopes, features of description, classification and identification, modern fundamental scientific and applied aspects of studying fungi in laboratory conditions, modern areas of application of this knowledge to solve problems in other fundamental and applied sciences.
