The purpose of the discipline is to give students knowledge and practical skills of psychotherapeutic work with children and families according to the Oaklader model.
The model of psychotherapeutic work with children, proposed by V.Oaklander is based on the Gestalt approach in therapy and is combined with the ideas of Ukrainian psychologists (D.Elkonin, L.Bozhovich, etc.) about the child as a personality who develops in relationships with others. The course program includes theoretical parts and practical forms of work. Students are studying the model of child development, with developmental factors of behavioral and emotional disorders, with the algorithm of the therapeutic process. Practical classes are focused at mastering the methods and techniques of therapy according to the Oaklander model, skills of work using different materials (pictures, clay, sand, etc.). Particular attention is paid to the peculiarities of work with parents during the treatment process with the child.
