            Prerequisites and co-requisites
        
        
            Know: the subject of social work with children and understand its essence; main categories of social work with children, the concept of social work with children; basic functions, approaches, principles, methods of social work with children; social work with children as a holistic system; historical roots of the development of social assistance to children; the system of social services of non-governmental organizations working with children in Ukraine and their specifics; international and domestic documents governing social work with children.
Be able to: analyze the social situation of the child; analyze the child's life situation and needs; explain the causes and consequences of providing social assistance to children; apply the acquired knowledge to the analysis of a specific life situation of the child; be able to analyze the appropriateness of the use of methods and technologies in social work with children, to predict their effectiveness.
        
    
            Course content
        
        
            The purpose of this course is to get acquainted with the current and historical state of social work with children and adolescents. The main methods and techniques of working with children and adolescents, problems that may arise in future professional activities when working with children, the features of social work with children with disabilities, orphans and children from disadvantaged families. In seminars, students develop their knowledge, solve opportunities to solve certain situations in social work with children and adolescents, prepare reports on social assistance to children and adolescents. Issues of using certain methods and technologies of social work with children and adolescents are being studied.

The maximum number of points per semester is 60 points. The form of the exam is written, according to the exam tickets. The minimum number of points for admission to the exam is 36 points. The number of points scored per semester is announced in advance.
