            Know the main theoretical directions and approaches to the study of masculinity in sociology and gender studies
Know the categorical specifics of sociological theories of masculinity
Be able to use the methodology and conceptual and categorical apparatus of sociology in the study of masculinity
Be able to critically analyze the cognitive capabilities of theoretical approaches to the analysis of masculinity
Be able to use the conceptual and categorical apparatus of men's studies in the study of modern social processes
Be able to analyze various manifestations of masculinity with the help of sociological tools
Demonstrate skills of reasoned presentation of one's own opinion, competent and tolerant discussion with opponents

            Course content
        
        
            Sociology of masculinity: the logic of development and the specifics of the subject field. Basic theoretical approaches to the consideration of masculinity. Masculinism and male movements. Theorizing masculinity: hegemonic masculinity and power, the concept of the crisis of masculinity. Soviet and post-Soviet masculinities: design features
Intercultural features of masculinities. Alternative masculinities and practices. Body and sexuality of masculinity. Gender equality and men's rights. Men and violence. Men and health.
