Learning outcomes
PR01. Apply the acquired theoretical knowledge and practical skills to study natural and socio-territorial systems at different levels of spatial organization. PR05. Be able to identify, pose and solve scientific and applied problems, carry out a critical assessment of the decisions made. PR14. Formulate scientific hypotheses, determine relevant aspects in fundamental and applied areas of research, develop and manage projects in the field of geography, environmental management, urban and regional development.

Prerequisites and co-requisites
Successful completion of the courses "Contemporary Debates in Human Geography", "Theories of Spatial Organization". Knowledge of the theoretical foundations of social geography, general methodology of social and geographical research. Possession of skills in searching for social and geographical information, noting and summarizing literary and statistical sources.
Course content
Scientific approaches to defining territorial identity, describing its structure, and factors determining its formation are revealed; aspects of the influence of territorial identity on the development of cities and regions, in particular on economic, socio-cultural, political, and geopolitical processes, are characterized.

Planned learning activities and teaching methods
Lectures, seminars, independent work, discussions, solving specific tasks and situations.
Assessment methods and criteria
The course includes 2 substantive parts. Classes are held in the form of lectures and seminars. The discipline ends with an exam. Assessment organization: Written surveys are conducted for the purpose of current control of students' knowledge during lectures. Work in seminars is assessed by performance, in accordance with the schedule of seminars. Thematic tests are conducted in written form with the inclusion of both test and analytical creative tasks. Students who received less than the minimum required number of points for the thematic test retake it. Final assessment in the form of an exam is conducted in written format. The maximum number of points during the exam is 40, the minimum number of points added to the semester ones is 24 (60% of the maximum number of points allocated for the exam).
