Learning outcomes
Know: Types, methods and technologies of mineral extraction.
Be able to: Use the acquired knowledge to determine the feasibility of mining and areas of mineral use, as well as the extent of their impact on the environment.
Form of study
Prerequisites and co-requisites
Knowledge of general geology, mineralogy, other related geological disciplines and an understanding of mineral extraction technologies. Possession of information about the mineral composition, conditions of formation and occurrence of rocks and ores.
Course content
The program of the discipline sets out basic information about the impact on the environment of subsoil use objects depending on the conditions and methods of development and technologies of mineral extraction in accordance with the genetic types of deposits, the conditions of their formation, chemical and mineral composition. as well as the use of mineral deposits, in particular, deposits of ferrous, non-ferrous, noble, rare, rare-earth, radioactive metals and non-metallic raw materials.

Assessment methods and criteria
Control is carried out according to the module-rating system and involves: completing tasks of inde-pendent and practical work (where students must demonstrate the quality of the acquired knowledge and solve the assigned tasks using the methods and means outlined by the teacher) and conducting a written module control. The final assessment is carried out in the form of a test.
