Learning outcomes
Know: Knowledge of theoretical and methodological principles of public administration and regulation of the exploration and mining industry. Knowledge of the content, structure of the main regulations in exploration and mining industry. Determining the main development directions of the mineral resource base of Ukraine and identify the most promising types of exploration work.
Be able to: Ability to navigate the use of current regulations and methodological documents developed by the State Geological Survey of Ukraine, the State Commission on Mineral Reserves, etc. for various types of exploration work and stages. Ability to design and organize certain types of exploration work in accordance with the requirements of applicable regulations. Ability to compile forms of accounting and registration of geological study of subsoil for different stages of development of mineral deposits.
Form of study
Prerequisites and co-requisites
to know the principles and methods of geological exploration, stages of geological study in domestic and international practice; to have the skills of work with primary and secondary geological information on various public, on-line and other data sources.
Course content
Discipline introduces students to the basics of the exploration and mining industry in modern economic and regulatory framework. It helps to understand the practical significance and application of acquired knowledge. The basic principles, methods, tools of state regulation within the existing types of subsoil use are covered: geological study, mining, construction and operation of underground buildings not related to mining, creation of geological territories and objects of important scientific, cultural etc. value, product sharing agreements and other. Domestic and international experience are reviewed and com-pared with the practical examples of state regulation in the exploration and mining industry.

lectures and seminars, written works, graphic and program presentation, independent students' work
Assessment methods and criteria
Semester assessment: mark for work in seminars - 60 ( limit score - 24 points), test - 20 points (limit score of 12 points). Final assessment in the form of a test: maximum mark of 20 points, limit mark of 12 points. During the test the student must certify knowledge of the structure of public administration in the field of subsoil use, especially geological study, and knowledge of basic regulations - the Subsoil Code of Ukraine, Mining Law of Ukraine, Law of Ukraine on State Geological Survey and others. Final as-sessment in the form of credit is not mandatory, if you refuse to participate in this form of assessment, the student will not receive the appropriate points for the final assessment. The results of students' learn-ing activities are evaluated on a 100-point scale.
