Know: understanding of factors which control distribution of deposits in the Earth's crust; understanding of geologic-industrial types of mineral deposits and principles of their classification; Be able to: ability to define geologic-industrial parameters of mineral ore bodies; development of a complex of effective search methods and conditions of their application according to searching evidenc-es; ability to do substantiated estimation of industrial prospects of a deposit according to data of search works.
Form of study
Prerequisites and co-requisites
Possession of elementary skills in the characterization of genetic and geological-industrial types of min-eral deposits. Knowledge of the basics of geology of Ukraine. Successful mastery of the theoretical foundations of the processes of formation of mineral deposits.
Course content
The discipline studies methodological, economic and geological bases of searches, prospection, estima-tion and calculation of reserves of mineral deposits; methods of searches of different kinds of minerals; conditions of their use with taking into account natural features of area of searches. Aim of teaching discipline - teaching of students about geological bases of searches, search of preconditions and evidences, techniques of approbation, prospection, estimation and calculation of reserves of mineral deposits. Objects of teaching discipline - understanding of methods of searches of economic deposits of minerals, features that control distribution of deposits in the Earth's crust; studying of chemical composition, quality, technological and technical properties, variability features, composition of mineral and country rocks. The obtained knowledge is widely applied at carrying out prospecting works at stages of geological survey, searches and prospection of mineral deposits.
