Learning outcomes
PLO 2. Work effectively with information: select the necessary information from various sources, including professional literature and electronic databases, critically analyze and interpret it, organize, classify and systematize it. PLO 15. Carry out linguistic, literary and special philological analysis of texts of different styles and genres. PLO 22. Carry out a comprehensive interdisciplinary analysis of folklore products. PLO 23. Characterize the semantics and pragmatics of rituals and ritual complexes. PLO 25.1 Apply in practice the knowledge of the mechanisms of emergence and development of the phenomena of the traditional cultural heritage of the Ukrainian people (in the specialization "Applied Folklore Studies").

Prerequisites and co-requisites
1. To know: the specifics of mythological thinking, the genre of folklore, mythological narratives of the peoples of the world, ritual practices. 2. Be able to: summarize and summarize a large amount of information about ritual practices, identify categories of myths and ways of their origin, work with different sources of scientific information, process it, make generalizations and conclusions.
Course content
The purpose of the discipline is to acquaint students with the specifics of the functioning and positioning of a folklore text, to teach students to analyze the ways and means of myth-making, the communicative aspect of the text, to identify mythologically suitable constructions, ways of their implementation and stratification. Annotation. The academic discipline "Myth Design" is a component of the educational and professional training program for the educational degree "Bachelor", field of knowledge 03. "Humanities", specialty 035 Philology (specialization 035.09 Folklore). This course aims to form students' understanding of the nature of myth-making, the ways myths emerge, to show the evolution of ideas about myth and the context of myth-making. This will help to identify myths of different times and different vectors in order to identify the ways of their emergence and functioning.

Planned learning activities and teaching methods
The course has 2 content parts.Classes are held in the form of lectures and seminars. The course ends with an exam. The first part is an introduction to the main directions of modern folklore studies, major folklore works, terms and concepts; familiarization with folklore methods and rules of their application for the interpretation of folklore phenomena; the main stages of formation of folklore studies as a scientific discipline. The second is the analysis of significant folklore works; the development of folklore ideas in synchrony and diachrony, modern trends and approaches in folklore studies.
Assessment methods and criteria
Knowledge control is carried out according to the ECTS system, which provides for the assessment of theoretical training (learning outcomes 1.1-1.4); assessment of practical training (learning outcomes 2.1-2.3); assessment of communication (learning outcomes 3.1-3.3). The level of achievement of all planned learning outcomes is determined by the results of written tests and oral answers.
