Learning outcomes
Know: methodical instructions for writing a term paper; basic concepts and terms of theoretical geophysics, classification of geophysical methods and their studied parameters; methods of working with field geophysical instruments and/or laboratory equipment; processing and primary geological interpretation of geophysical data; principles of quantitative analysis of geophysical data. Measure, process and analyze the results of geophysical observations. Apply physical parameters of rocks and soils to analyze natural processes and geological composition. Understand personal responsibility for professional decisions that may provide information about the geological environment.
Form of study
Full-time form
Prerequisites and co-requisites
Confident mastery of the basic theoretical and practical knowledge of the course “Geophysical Research Methods”.
Course content
The course work is the final stage of studying the discipline “Geophysical Research Methods”. This component of the educational program “Geology and Subsoil Use Management” is an important element of the academic work of the applicant in the specialty 103 “Earth Sciences”, where he must demonstrate his ability to independently plan, organize and conduct research and analyze and evaluate the obtained geological and geophysical information.

Planned learning activities and teaching methods
Course work, independent work of applicants.
Assessment methods and criteria
The final evaluation of term papers - differentiated credit - is carried out during the defense at a meeting of the Department of Geophysics. The grade consists of the total number of points obtained during the preparation of the work (up to a maximum of 60 points) and during the defense of the course work (up to 40 points).
The final grade is formed as an average of the grades of all present teachers. The applicant is not allowed to take the final assessment in the form of a differentiated test if the tasks and requirements for writing a term paper are not completed and/or the term paper is not available.
