Learning outcomes
Know general information about water as a substance; physical and chemical properties of water; specific properties of water; the main methods for conducting chemical analysis of groundwater. To be able to take water samples for further analysis, determine the physical and chemical properties of water, systematize and classify the results of chemical analysis
Form of study
Prerequisites and co-requisites
have basic knowledge of chemistry
Course content
Students learn theoretical material about the main hypotheses of the water origin on Earth, the role of water in geological processes, the specific properties of water, the participation of groundwater in the water cycle on Earth. They study the physical and chemical properties of water, the main methods of studying water in determining the physical and chemical properties. Familiarize with the regulatory documents for the chemical analysis of water. Based on the water analysis results and existing standards for water quality, students classify and give recommendations on the experimental water using purpose

Planned learning activities and teaching methods
Lectures, laboratory work, independent work of students
Assessment methods and criteria
Control involves lab works and 2 written tests. The final assessment is conducted in the form of a written test. The results of students' learning activities are evaluated on a 100-point scale. A student is not allowed to take the final grade if he / she scored less than 40 points during the semester. During the semester the student can score from 48 to 80 points. During the test the student can get from 12 to 20 points
