Learning outcomes
PRN01. Apply the acquired theoretical knowledge and practical skills for the study of natural and socio-territorial systems at different levels of spatial organization.
PRN04. Conduct research and/or conduct innovative activities in order to obtain new knowledge, develop new methods and procedures in geography.
PRN08. Conduct research on natural and socio-geographical manifestations of the development of geosystems in complex and unpredictable conditions, forecast their development, analyze alternatives, assess risks and probable consequences.
PRN10. Apply geo-information technologies, create and research models of natural and socio-geographical manifestations of the development of geosystems, determine the possibilities and limits of their application.
PRN12. Plan and carry out theoretical and applied research, draw reasonable conclusions, analyze and present research results.

Prerequisites and co-requisites
1) know the basics of anthropogenic paleogeography, Quaternary geology, paleoecology and evolution of the biosphere, geoarchaeology and have a general idea of prehistoric and historical human development.
2) to be able to establish relationships between anthropogenic and natural components of ecosystems.
3) to have elementary skills of system analysis, to understand cause-and-effect relationships between the components of nature.
Course content
The discipline consists of two content modules. The first one analyzes the regularities of the influence of the natural conditions of human habitation on the change in its anthropological types, on the change in the location and types of settlements, the change in material cultures, migration processes, as well as on the natural and scientific methods of studying archaeological monuments. The main stages of the development of man and material cultures during the Pleistocene and their correlation with the existing regional and global paleogeographic schemes are considered.
The second content module examines the regularities of the influence of the natural conditions of human habitation of the Mesolithic, Neolithic, Bronze and Iron Ages on changes in the location and types of settlements, changes in material cultures, ways of managing the development of the environment and management, migration processes, as well as on natural and scientific methods the study of archaeological monuments, dated to the Holocene deposits.

Planned learning activities and teaching methods
Lecture, practical session, independent work
Assessment methods and criteria
Assessment of performance of tasks of practical works, modular control work, enrollment of independent works, consultations, exam.
The maximum number of points on the exam is 40 points, the minimum number of points that are added to the semester ones is 26 points.
It is mandatory for the exam to pass all the practical work provided by the work program and to write modular test papers. The recommended minimum for admission to the exam is 34 points. For students who scored a total of less points than the recommended minimum (34 points), it is mandatory to resubmit those types of work for which they received a grade lower than the permissible minimum.
