Learning outcomes
PRN04. Conduct research and/or conduct innovative activities in order to obtain new knowledge, develop new methods and procedures in geography. PRN05. Be able to identify, pose and solve scientific and applied problems, carry out a critical assessment of the decisions made. PRN06. Apply modern models and information technologies for research and development in the field of geography, nature management, urban and regional development, geomorphology, paleogeography. PRN10. Apply geo-information technologies, create and research models of natural-geographic manifestations of the development of geosystems, determine the possibilities and limits of their application. PRN15. Independently assess the key trends in the development of natural and geographical processes for the formation of new areas of scientific research PRN16. To justify projects of field and laboratory work on the study of morphology, genesis, age and dynamics of the relief.

Prerequisites and co-requisites
1) to know the basics of paleogeography, anthropogenic paleogeography, Quaternary geology, paleoecology, and the evolution of the biosphere, to have general ideas about the prehistoric and historical development of man. 2) to be able to establish relationships between anthropogenic and natural components of ecosystems. 3) to have elementary skills of system analysis, to understand the cause-and-effect relationships between the components of nature.
Course content
The discipline consists of two content modules. The first one analyzes the place of geoarchaeology in the system of Earth sciences and natural-scientific methods of studying archaeological monuments, examines the main stages of human development and material cultures during the Quaternary period and their correlation with existing regional and global paleogeographic schemes. The second content module examines the complex of analytical works on geoarchaeological sites for the purpose of paleoecological reconstructions, the actual method of paleoecological reconstructions for geoarchaeological sites, the peculiarities of the use of geoarchaeological data in Quaternary geology and paleogeography.

Assessment methods and criteria
Evaluation of performance of tasks of practical works, modular control work, presentation, debate, exam.The final evaluation in the form of an exam is conducted in a written format. The maximum number of points on the exam is 40 points, the minimum number of points that are added to the semester ones is 29 points. It is mandatory for the exam to pass all the practical work provided by the work program and to write modular test papers. The recommended minimum for admission to the exam is 31 points.
