Learning outcomes
PLO3. Know and use economic terminology, explain the basic concepts of micro and macroeconomics.
PLO4. Understand the principles of economics, the features of the functioning of economic systems.
PLO8. Apply appropriate economic and mathematical methods and models for solving economic problems.
PLO9. Realize the main features of the modern world and national economy, the institutional structure, directions of social, economic and foreign economic policy of the state.
PLO21. Be able to think abstractly, apply analysis and synthesis to identify key characteristics of economic systems at different levels, as well as the behavior of their subjects.
PLO26. Apply information on the latest phenomena and processes taking place in the international economy, and to formulate strategies for the activities of its actors in the global environment.

Prerequisites and co-requisites
Know: the essence and methods of studying economic processes, the content of economic indicators, forms of relations between economic entities.
Possess: skills to calculate economic indicators, process statistical data, analyze secondary information.
Course content
Consideration of the theoretical foundations of the study of the subject of international economy, its structure, essential elements and principles of interaction between them. The study of classical, neoclassical and modern theories of international trade, which try to explain the causes of various types of international trade, substantiate the possibilities of obtaining comparative advantages, show the directions of international trade; as well as the reasons for the introduction of trade restrictions, their forms and possible consequences. Identifying the causes, types, directions and consequences of the international transfer of technologies, labor and capital, as well as state policy in the field of international transfer of factors of production. Consideration of the country's balance of payments and the need for its balancing, features of formation, functions, types, structure and features of the functioning of international currency, credit and financial markets, as well as trends in the modern development of the international economic system.
