Successful mastering of courses «Economics», «History of Economic Thought» and «Macroeconomics». Knowledge of theoretical basis of the course «International Economics»

Course «Economic Policy and Its Institutions» is devoted to research of foundations of economic policy and main aspects of functioning of its institutions. Course consists of two content modules: Content module 1. «Theoretical background of Economic Policy» is dedicated to the study of market failures, evolution of economic thought towards government intervention in the economy, classical and new theories of economic policy, its objectives and tools, stages of design and implementation, and role of macroeconomic planning and forecasting in economic policy design. Content module 2. «Economic Policy at Micro-, Meso- and Macrolevel», which covers instruments of different types of economic policy (fiscal, monetary, investment, innovation, social, competition policies, etc.) and role of government and international institutions in their implementation.
