Learning outcomes
PLO5. To apply analytical and methodical tools for substantiating proposals and making managerial decisions by various economic agents (individuals, households, enterprises and government authorities)
PLO 10. To analyze the functioning and development of economic entities, to identify functional areas, to calculate the relevant indicators that characterize the performance of their activities
PLO 12. To apply the acquired theoretical knowledge to solve practical problems and interpret the obtained results in a meaningful way

Prerequisites and co-requisites
To know: basic microeconomic models, principles of optimization, definitions of core microeconomic terms.
To master: basics of Calculus, comprehend the graphic models.
Course content
The course of study is addressed to the following groups of microeconomics problems: household theory – consumer choice under certainty and uncertainty; theory of the firm – theory of production and costs, firm behavior under perfect and imperfect competition, perfect and imperfect information; market coordination and functioning of resource markets; assessment of economy’s state; factors affecting efficiency of market and economy; social welfare. In result of mastering the course of study, the student will get ability to solve practical problems at the microeconomic level using the concept of rational behavior of economic agents.

Assessment methods and criteria
Semester assessment (maximum 60, minimum 36 points):
1. Seminar work, (topics 1-4) including individual assignments (maximum grade 5 points for one assignment), maximum 15 points / minimum 9 points.
2. Test 1 (topics 1-4), maximum 15 points / minimum 9 points.
3. Seminar work, (topics 5-8) including individual assignments (maximum grade 5 points for one assignment), maximum 15 points / minimum 9 points.
4. Test 2 (topics 5-8), maximum 15 points / minimum 9 points.
Final assessment in form of exam with maximum of 40/minimum 24 points.
