Learning outcomes
PLO8. Apply appropriate economic-mathematical methods and models to solve economic problems. PLO12. Apply the acquired theoretical knowledge to solve practical problems and meaningfully interpret the results. PLO26. Understand and skillfully use mathematical and numerical methods often used in economic research. PLO28. Interpret and manage economic data, find information about the generation, structure and meaning of economic data, analyze data sources.

Prerequisites and co-requisites
1. Know: the basic concepts of Mathematics, including methods for calculating the boundaries of numerical sequences and functions, the concept of numerical series, methods for studying the convergence of numerical series; basic concepts of Probability Theory and Mathematical Statistics, including classical definition of probability, characteristics of discrete and continuous random variables, main types of distributions of random variables. 2. Have the skills of statistical analysis of economic indicators, calculation of limits of numerical sequences, research of numerical series for convergence.
Course content
The course structure has two modules: Content module 1. “Simple and Compound Interest, Simple and Compound Annuities”, which icludes the basic problems of calculating interest, simple interest, compound interest, concepts of simple and compound annuities. Content module 2. "Shares and bonds, futures and forward contracts", which includes the concepts of shares and bonds, methods of determining financial efficiency, the concept of leasing and fortfait operation, the concept of options and insurance annuities.

1. Solving ploblems (LO 1.1-1.2, 4.1) – 20 points / 12 points; 2. Module test (2 Module tests, 15 points max. for each) (LO 1.1-1.2; 2.1-2.2; 4.1) - 30 points / 18 points; 3. The self-study assignment (two assignments, 15 and 10 points max. respectively) (LO 2.1-2.2) - 25 points / 15 points; 3. Final test (LO 1.1-1.2; 4.1) - 25 points / 15 points.
