Learning outcomes
PLO 5. Apply analytical and methodological tools to substantiate proposals and make managerial decisions by various economic agents (individuals, households, enterprises, and public authorities).
PLO 8. Apply appropriate economic-mathematical methods and models to solve economic problems.
PLO 12. Apply the acquired theoretical knowledge to solve practical tasks and meaningfully interpret the obtained results.
PLO 27. Use appropriate software (programming languages, packages) for economic and mathematical research.

Prerequisites and co-requisites
To know: the basics of operations research, in particular mathematical modeling of economic processes and systems, methods of quantitative and qualitative analysis of optimal solutions; basics of discrete mathematics, economic theory and the functioning of economic systems.
Abstract thinking skills, analysis, synthesis, understanding of decision-making problems for managing economic systems, substantiation of optimal decisions for solving economic problems based on models and methods of operations research, application of knowledge in practice.
Course content
Module 1. “Business planning. Problems of transport logistics. Tasks of organizing and coordinating business projects ”. The module considers the application of network models and methods of network analysis to solve problems of optimization of transport networks and business plans.
Module 2. "Optimization problems of inventory management". The module examines the problems of inventory management, cost elements of inventory management models, the classic Wilson model to determine the optimal batch of product orders, its modifications, as well as multi-product and dynamic single-product inventory management models.

3. Test work on topics 6-12 (tasks): LO 1.1, 1.2, 2.1, 2.2, 3.1, 4.1 - 20 points / 12 points.
Final assessment in the form of a written exam:
1. Tests on topics 1-12: LO 1.1, 1.2, 2.1, 2.2, 3.1, 4.1 - 10 points / 6 points.
2. Calculation problem: LO 1.1, 1.2, 2.1, 2.2, 3.1, 4.1 - 15 points / 9 points
3. Calculation problem: LO 1.1, 1.2, 2.1, 2.2, 3.1, 4.1 - 15 points / 9 points.
