Learning outcomes
PLO3. Know and use economic terminology, explain the basic concepts of micro and macroeconomics. PLO5. Apply analytical and methodological tools to substantiate proposals and make management decisions by various economic agents (individuals, households, enterprises and public authorities). PLO8. Apply appropriate economic-mathematical methods and models to solve economic problems. PLO21. Be able to think abstractly, apply analysis and synthesis to identify key characteristics of economic systems at different levels, as well as the behavior of their subjects.

Prerequisites and co-requisites
1. Know the basic concepts and laws of modern economic theory, basic economic models of markets; general mathematical laws; economic and mathematical methods and models. 2. Be able to think analytically, apply mathematical knowledge and knowledge of economic laws in the process of solving economic problems, build basic economic and mathematical models, predict and analyze the behavior of economic entities. 3. Possess basic skills of educational activity, analysis, synthesis, comparison, abstraction, generalization, etc.
Course content
The course structure has two modules: Content module 1. “Consumption and production” that discusses the basics of microeconomic analysis, the model of consumer behavior, household demand, production costs are considered Content module 2. “Market structures, equilibrium and welfare”, that discusses the behavior of the firm in the market of perfect competition, monopoly and monopoly power, monopolistic competition and oligopoly, resource markets, partial market equilibrium, general equilibrium and public welfare, market failures and public goods, externalities.
