Course content
In the modern world, systems of telecommunication, or data transfer, play an important role. Traffic volume that is transmitted through them grows year by year, so students ought to be able to design modern telecommunication systems and networks that secure required quality indicators. This subject is devoted to studying approaches, methods, principles and gaining practical skills of channel-switched and packet-switched telecommunication networks design as well as traffic transfer parameters estimation in these networks. It will allow them to use these skills at companies and organizations of the country’s telecommunication and information industries.

Assessment methods and criteria
Students are assessed both during the semester and at the end of the semester exam.
During the semester, students are evaluated on all types of activities. Overall grade for the semester is composed as weighed sum of student’s marks for different kinds of activities. Maximum grade that can be achieved by student for the work over the semester cannot exceed 60 points on 100-point scale.
Final assessment is performed in the form of end of the semester exam and maximum points available for students at the exam are 40. Student is admitted to take the exam under the condition of successfully performing all 8 scheduled laboratory classes.
