Learning outcomes
The main tasks and possibilities of geological and industrial research of oil and gas wells. Methods of testing productive formations and hydrodynamic studies of wells in order to obtain data on the hydrodynamic perfection of wells, filtration characteristics of formations in order to ensure optimal inflows of oil and gas from oil and gas-bearing facilities. Planning and use of geological and industrial research of wells during the development of oil and gas deposits, on the basis of which all technological indicators of the subsequent system of field development and methods of increasing oil-gas-condensate extraction from productive layers are made. Basics of hydrodynamic research methods on stable and unstable filtration regimes, which are used to determine the filtration and industrial parameters of formations based on formation pressure recovery curves.

Course content
The methods of primary and secondary of reservoir penetration, as well as the challenges of enhanced oil and gas recovery are considered. The physical and chemical processes in the near-wellbore zone than affect the reduction of porosity and permeability of reservoir rocks are described. The influence of drilling fluids on quality of potential productive formation is characterized. Attention is focused on optimization drilling parameters for abnormal formation pressure intervals and well completion. The methods of cleaning and fixing of the well near-bottomhole zone are considered. Also, the features of chemical cleaning and hydraulic fracturing during the initial penetrating of formations and to increase of the production rate of wells are considered. An assessment of the quality of formation penetration in Ukraine and abroad is given

Assessment methods and criteria
The control is carried out according to the modular rating system and includes: practical work (where students must demonstrate the quality of acquired knowledge and solve problems using the methods and tools outlined by the teacher), independent practical work (where students must demonstrate the quality of acquired knowledge and solve problems without limiting tools and techniques for solving the problem) and conducting 2 written modular tests. The final assessment is conducted in the form of a written and oral exam.
