Prerequisites and co-requisites
Course content
The students are introduced to the basics of organizing access to diverse data using modern Internet technologies. Students are introduced to modern concepts of data transmission, basic protocols and addressing schemes for web tasks. The general principles of organizing and configuring the most common web servers are studied. Students get acquainted with professional software products for web development (WebStorm). The basics of the HTML markup language, CSS style language, and ECMAScript scripting language (JavaScript) are studied. Students are also introduced to the main web frameworks and APIs (Bootstrap, ArcGIS API for JavaScript). Students gain practical skills in team development for data presentation using geo-referenced data as examples. Students get acquainted with the peculiarities of representing geodata in databases. Students learn the basics of data presentation in modern web engines.

Planned learning activities and teaching methods
lectures and practical classes, independent work.
Assessment methods and criteria
Control is carried out according to the modular rating system and involves: performing 14 practical works (where students have to demonstrate the quality of acquired knowledge and solve the tasks using the outlined ones methods and tools by the teacher) and conducting 4 modular control tests. The evaluation in the 2nd semester involves an intermediate control, which is billed based on the results of the student's work throughout the semester, as a sum (simple or weighted) points for systematic work during the 2nd semester. A separate form of control not provided at the end of the 2nd semester. The final evaluation is carried out in the form written and oral exam
