Learning outcomes
To know modern research analytical methods, geochemistry of the Earth, geochemistry of magmatic and metamorphic rocks, geochemistry of weathering and soils and sedimentary rocks formation, isotope systems analysis, modern geochemical prospecting and its applications, be able to select the optimal analytical methods for current geochemical research, be able to carry out the modern geochemical prospecting and its applications for ore, oil and gas deposits, and for estimation of environmental pollution.

Students must have skills and knowledge related to Chemistry, Physics, Mineralogy and Petrography.
Course content
Main considered themes: (1) research analytical methods, (2) geochemistry of the Earth, earth's crust, mantle and core, (3) geochemistry of magmatic and metamophic rocks. (4) geochemistry of weathering and chemical composition of soils and sedimentary rocks, (5) isotope systems analysis, (6) Geochemical prospecting.

Planned learning activities and teaching methods
Lectures, practical classes, consultations, self-work. Teaching methods are explanatory-illustrative, research, part-search and heuristic.
Assessment methods and criteria
Control is carried out according to the modular rating system and provides for: passing 5 practical classes (where students must demonstrate the quality of the acquired knowledge and solve the tasks set using the methods outlined by the teacher) and solving the tasks without limiting the tools and techniques of solving the problem) and passed 2 written tests. The final grading is carried out in the form of a written Exam. Scheme of grading 1. Semester grading: 1) Module 1 - 10 points (passing grade is 6 points) 2) Module 2 - 10 points (passing grade is 6 points) 3) Grading for work at practical classes - 40 points (passing grade is 24 points) 2. Final examination in the form of the written test: maximum grade is 40 points, and the passing grade is 24 points. Results of educational activity of students grading are based on a 100 grading scale.
