Prerequisites and co-requisites
In order to better master the educational material of the discipline, students must have knowledge and skills in geoinformatics and computer technology, GIS, remote sensing, databases, programming, systems analysis.
Course content
The discipline "GIS in natural resources management" allows you to gain knowledge on planning, development of design strategies using GIS, practical management and implementation of projects on natural resources. The course takes into account current trends, existing standards and approaches and methodology for natural resource management. It aims to consider the features of planning and project management, the creation of systems that operate on the basis of geographic information technologies in nature management. An important component of this discipline is the study of methodology for planning and project management using GIS on the example of specific tasks for natural resources.
