- systematization, consolidation and expansion of theoretical knowledge and practical skills of students; - gaining experience in working with literary and stock materials, the ability to perform reviews of previous research, critically analyze, synthesize and summarize scientific information and formulate conclusions, develop their own attitude to a scientific or practical problem; - learn to substantiate the methods of geophysical research and methods of conducting them in solving specific geological problems; - mastering the basic methods of processing, analysis and interpretation of geological and geophysical information using computer technology; - obtaining specific results and conclusions based on their own research, geological interpretation of the results.

Full-time form

Acquisition of basic theoretical knowledge in the discipline "Geophysical research methods" of practical and laboratory work in the learning process, conducting personal laboratory or methodological research, mastering the skills of field and laboratory research during internships, participation in scientific seminars of geophysics and public lectures, participation in the work of youth conferences, in particular, the All-Ukrainian youth conference-school "Modern problems of Earth sciences"

Writing a term paper is an important part of the educational process, the main task of which is to train highly qualified geophysicists who are able to skillfully apply geophysical methods in the search and exploration of mineral deposits, hydrogeology, engineering geology, ecology and more.

Assessment of term papers is carried out during the defense at a meeting of the Department of Geophysics. The final grade is formed as an average of the grades of all present (Regulations on the organization of the educational process at the Taras Shevchenko National University of Kyiv, 2018). The course work is defended openly and openly in compliance with the requirements of academic courtesy and integrity (Regulations on the procedure for establishing and organizing the work of the Examination Commission at the Taras Shevchenko National University of Kyiv, 2014).
