Form of study
Full-time form
Prerequisites and co-requisites
Knowledge of the theoretical foundations of physics, mathematics and geophysical research methods.
Course content
The program of the discipline focuses on the physical and mathematical foundations of gravimetry, structure and methods of modern gravimetric equipment. The basic principles of solving direct and inverse gravimetry problems are considered. The methods of qualitative and quantitative interpretation of gravimetric data are characterized, the basics of primary processing of field gravimetric data are provided. The study includes the study of the areas of application of gravimetry, the integration of gravity exploration with other geophysical methods in various surveys, prospecting and exploration of minerals, solving engineering and geological problems in environmental research
Recommended or required reading and other learning resources/tools
Planned learning activities and teaching methods
Lectures, laboratory classes and independent work of students
Assessment methods and criteria
The control is carried out according to the modular rating system and includes: laboratory work (where students must demonstrate the quality of acquired knowledge and solve problems using the methods and tools outlined by the teacher) and conducting 3 written modular tests. The final assessment is conducted in the form of a written exam.
