Learning outcomes
- To know and understand the subject and object of geological research – To analyze the basic planetary laws of generation, migration and accumulation of hydrocarbons in the earth's crust
– Knowledge and use of specific theories, paradigms, concepts and principles in the field of Petroleum Geology - The desire to preserve the natural environment and ensure sustainable development of society. In addition, the following general competencies: GC2, GC3, GC5, GC8, GC10, GC12

Prerequisites and co-requisites
The student must have basic knowledge of physics, chemistry, ecology, geological disciplines, including mineralogy, petrography, basics of geophysical research, exploration.
Course content
World hydrocarbon resources, including Ukraine. Ways to increase the efficiency of oil and gas exploration methods. Unconventional and alternative sources of hydrocarbons. The main factors of man-made impact on the environment at hydrocarbon production facilities. Current environmental legislation and sectoral regulatory documents.

Assessment methods and criteria
Form of student evaluation includes semester grading (2 tests, 2 essays) and final evaluation) and Final evaluation. Final evaluation is based on the results of the student's work throughout the semester. To be admitted to the test(final grade) it is obligatory: 1) to pass 2 control tests; 2) prepare 2 essays.
