Learning outcomes
The value of hydrocarbons as mineral resource. Hydrocarbon and non-hydrocarbon composition of oil gas. Sources of natural hydrocarbons. Basic concepts of reservoirs, traps, fluid stops, tires. Conditions for the formation of oil and gas fields. Ability to schematically depict the types of oil and gas reservoirs. Ability to characterize the main types of oil and gas reservoirs. Ability to determine the direction and sequence of geological research on oil and gas.

Basic knowledge of physics, chemistry, global geology, lithology, structural geology.
Course content
Basic knowledge of the use of oil, gas condensate, gas and products of their processing in the national economy, chemical and physical composition of hydrocarbons is provided. Aspects of formation of hydrocarbons in subsoil and their accumulation in deposits and fields are revealed. Methods and techniques of research of oil and gas territories are considered.

Assessment methods and criteria
The control is carried out according to the modular rating system and involves: conducting 3 written modular tests, oral interview. The final assessment is conducted in the form of a written test.
