Prerequisites and co-requisites
1. Successful mastering of courses in general, structural geology, lithology. 2. Possession of skills of reading geological maps, sections.
Course content
The program of the discipline includes acquaintance with the geological structure of the oceanic crust, structural-teсtonic zoning and the history of geological development of the World Ocean. The course acquaints students with the features of the relief of the seabed and geological factors of its formation, the composition and properties of marine sediments, geological processes occurring in the oceans. The program of the discipline includes acquaintance with the geological structure and oil and gas potential of sea basins, study of the main oil and gas provinces of the World Ocean and typical oil and gas fields.
