Form of study
Distance form
Prerequisites and co-requisites
1. An idea of the requirements facing analytical methods in the study of mineral matter 2. To have basic skills of working with a personal computer
Course content
The discipline introduces the basics of physical methods of analytical studies of mineral matter. Students get acquainted with the main metrological characteristics and the principle of operation of modern physical analytical methods. X-ray spectral methods of researching the chemical composition of mineral substances are studied in detail as basic analytical methods, which are available for bachelor's and master's work. Possibilities, features of application and metrological characteristics of X-ray spectral methods are studied. The purpose of the discipline is to acquaint students with modern analytical methods of studying the composition of mineral substances used in geochemical and mineralogical-geochemical research.

Assessment methods and criteria
1. Semester assessment: - Control work on content module 1: max – 30, min – 18 points. The final assessment may include the results of surveys - current (during lectures) and additional (after checking the control work). - Control work from content module 2: max – 30, min – 18 points. The final assessment may include the results of surveys - current (during lectures) and additional (after checking the test work).) 2. Final assessment in the form of an exam: (compulsory exam in writing): max – 40 points, min – 24 points. The results of students' educational activities are evaluated on a 100-point scale. The overall grade is given based on the results of the student's work throughout the semester as the sum of the points of the semester and final assessment: A student is not admitted to the final assessment in the form of an exam if he scored less than 36 points during the semester.
