Learning outcomes
Prepare data for analysis in modeling systems (using Neuralog and Schlumberger Petrel as examples). Interpret various types of seismic and well logging data (using Schlumberger Petrel as an example). Create grid-based temporal and depth models of oil and gas reservoirs (using Schlumberger Petrel as an example). Generate petrophysical models (using Schlumberger Petrel as an example). Visualize and prepare various types of acquired data for further use (using Schlumberger Petrel as an example). Interpret the obtained information to address petroleum geology tasks. Compile presentation reports on the conducted work stages.

Prerequisites and co-requisites
Knowledge of disciplines within the general geological cycle, fundamentals of geochemistry, structural geology and geological mapping, historical geology, geotectonics, basics of petroleum geology, geophysical research methods.
Course content
Mastering modern tools for three-dimensional geological-geophysical modeling of oil and gas reservoirs, understanding the basic principles and approaches used for constructing digital models of geological environments. Practical skills are acquired in creating databases, interpreting geological-geophysical information, building static models, and the fundamentals of facies analysis using contemporary software packages. Various practical cases from active fields in Ukraine are examined, emphasizing the importance of interpreting results.

Lectures, practical work, independent study.
Assessment methods and criteria
Assessment is conducted through a module-rating system, including: project execution - practical work with 6 reports on separate stages (where students must demonstrate the quality of acquired knowledge and solve tasks using methods and tools outlined by the instructor) and conducting 2 written module control tests. The final assessment is done in the form of a written exam.
