Know: Subject, object, tasks and methods of structural analysis. Earth's crust as a mechanically inhomogeneous medium. Mass and surface forces. Stresses at a point: stress vector and its components. Flat stress state, principal stresses at plane state. Kolo Mora. Stress tensor. The main normal and tangential stresses. Invariants of the tensor, the equation of equilibrium of a continuous medium. Strain tensor, compression-tension and shear strain. Be able to: Determine the stress and strain according to Hooke's law. Create rheological models of tectonic processes. Process non-spatial geological information. Analyze fracture diagrams and determine the orientation of the axes of the main normal and tangential stresses on conjugate systems of discontinuities
Form of study
Distance form
Prerequisites and co-requisites
Successful mastering of the course "Structural Geology and Geomapping".
Course content
There is an acquaintance with the basics of research of cortical mesostructural forms and their paragenesis in different age structural-formation complexes. The course considers the necessary concepts and basic principles of mechanics of rheologically different geological environments and their mechanical properties. Methods that allow to reconstruct paleotectonic stress fields, to establish deformation and rheological mechanisms of structure formation are considered in detail: methods of field tectonophysics, geometric analysis, physical and mathematical modeling. An important place is occupied by the issues of dynamo-kinematic conditions of formation of planar and linear structural-textural elements of different types of rocks.

Planned learning activities and teaching methods
Lectures, practical classes and independent work of the student.
Assessment methods and criteria
The results of students' learning activities are evaluated on a 100-point scale. The final assessment is conducted in the form of an exam with a maximum score of 40 points, a milestone score of 24 points. The semester assessment includes 3 module-test works, each of which is evaluated at 10 points and practical works are evaluated at 30 points.
