Learning outcomes
Providing knowledge on the scientific foundations of cartographic toponymy and forming practical skills of applied studies of cartographic toponymy.

Prerequisites and co-requisites
Possession of a bachelor's degree in earth sciences; geodesy and land management, geography; be able to work with the electronic database of geographical names.
Course content
The program of the academic discipline consists of the following content modules:
1. Theoretical and methodological principles of cartographic toponymy (concept, object, subject of research, classification, etymology of geographical names);
2. Methods of reproduction of foreign geographical names in Ukrainian and transmission of geographical names of Ukraine in Latin;
3. Toponymic cartographic works in Ukraine and the world.

Planned learning activities and teaching methods
Teaching and learning methods: lectures, written control work, practical work, defense of practical work, consultations during the semester, defense of completed homework
Assessment methods and criteria
Forms and organization of assessment:
- current (semester) evaluation (reports (minimum grade 24, maximum 40; control papers (6-20); independent work (5-20));
- final (final) assessment in the form of credit (assessment for theory knowledge (minimum 12, maximum 40 points).
For students who scored a total of less points than the critical calculation minimum - 35 points, for admission to the final control form, it is necessary to pass an additionally completed individual complex task.
