Prerequisites and co-requisites
- Successful mastering of the components of OK 1 "Theory of political geography and geopolitics", OK 6 "Methodology and organization of scientific research with the basics of intellectual property", and OK 9 "Professional and corporate ethics". - Mastering the basics of the methods of country studies, political geography and more broadly, socio-geographical and sociological studies.
Course content
Research workshop with political and geographical studies is a series of practical classrooms classes, in the course of which the applicants, based on the results of their independent work exchange the results of their own scientific and research activities within the framework preparation of one's own master's qualification work projects. Master's theses are carried out in accordance with methodological guidelines recommendations for writing master's theses approved by the department of country studies and tourism under the supervision of a scientific supervisor. Simultaneously, writing work at all stages, from choosing a topic to presenting conclusions, can take place in the format of regular professional communication with colleagues, which helps to improve the quality of work, get feedback and constructive criticism, to form the skills of criticism itself, and professional response to it, and also helps applicants to acquire skills, necessary for public defense of work and skills of working in scientific research teams in case of continuing further work in academic environment.

Assessment methods and criteria
The work of the winners on each topic of the workshop (see the thematic plan) is evaluated on a 10-point scale. Accordingly, the total score of both the teacher and each winner is 10 topics of the workshop equals a maximum of 100 points. The total points received during the semester form the credit score for given educational component. There is no separate final certification In general, the formation of the assessment is based on the "Regulations on the organization of the educational process at Taras Kyiv National University Shevchenko" (second edition), put into effect by the rector's order No. 170-32 of April 11, 2022.
