1) Basic knowledge of the theoretical foundations of global and regional geography, regional and country studies, geography of the world economy, socio-economic geography of the world, geoglobalistics; 2) Basic skills of comparative geographical analysis, notation and review of literary sources
Course content
The course traces the essence of the theoretical foundations of of research of glocalization process is revealed, considering, in particular: essence of global-local relations, conceptual interpretations of glocalization and their critical analysis, analytical schemes of research of essential causal effects of global transformations at local level and vice versa with contextual analysis. The course is taught in English.

Assessment methods and criteria
Classes are held in the form of lectures, seminars. The discipline ends with a pass/fail examination. During the semester, after the completion of the relevant topics, a blitz-test with open-ended questions is conducted. To determine the level of achievement of learning outcomes under items 2 and 3, students present the author's results of an individual task to assess the geostrategic positioning of the country of choice. For students who during the semester did not reach the minimum threshold level of assessment (60% of the maximum possible number of points) for blitz-tests the test, which covers the relevant issues of blitz-surveys, is conducted. The maximum grade for the final test may not exceed 40% of the final grade (up to 40 points on a 100-point scale).
