The defense of the thesis takes place during an open meeting of the Examination Committee, in the presence of the thesis supervisor. The defense procedure includes a student’s oral presentation (up to 7-8 minutes), the student’s responses to questions from the committee members, a brief presentation by the thesis supervisor with an evaluation of the student’s work, the announcement of the review of the work, the student’s responses to the reviewer’s comments, and a discussion of the master’s thesis. When assigning the final grade, all components of the defense are taken into account: the completeness of the research results presented in the report; the student’s knowledge of the research topic when responding to the committee members' questions; the reviewer’s evaluation and the response to the reviewer’s comments; the supervisor’s feedback; and the level of originality of the thesis text (which indicates the author’s originality in conducting the research).
