Learning outcomes
To know: the essence, content, and levels of competitiveness research; the factors shaping regional competitiveness, their components, and their influence on regional development; the methodology for assessing regional competitiveness. To be able to: apply critical thinking, analyze and synthesize information on regional competitiveness, search for, process, and analyze data from various sources; identify and analyze the competitive advantages of regions; evaluate regional development plans and strategies, and determine key directions for enhancing their competitiveness.

Prerequisites and co-requisites
to have basic knowledge of the following disciplines: Theory of Spatial Organization, Fundamentals of Regional Policy, Socio-Geographical Forecasting, Applied Economic and Social Geography, Geography of Risks and Sustainable Development. to be able to: quantitatively and qualitatively analyze the key elements that characterize regional development and competitiveness. to possess skills in: modern quantitative and qualitative geographic research methods, and the ability to analyze and synthesize statistical information.
Course content
The course "Regional Competitiveness" is dedicated to studying the essence and content of regional competitiveness, the factors that form corresponding competitive advantages, the scientific and methodological basis for shaping regional competitiveness, the current state, trends in the formation, and conceptual foundations for enhancing the competitiveness of regions in Ukraine. It also explores the specifics of regional policy in Ukraine in the context of managing and developing the competitiveness of regions.

Assessment methods and criteria
Semester assessment: The number of points a student receives during the semester is the sum of the points obtained from the evaluation of their work in seminar sessions, completion of creative analytical-calculation tasks, and writing thematic control papers. Assessment organization: Work in seminar sessions is evaluated based on completion, according to the seminar schedule. After completing relevant topics, ongoing knowledge control is conducted in the form of a thematic written control paper with open questions and tests.
