Learning outcomes
To know: The distribution of power among different territorial levels; applied principles of territorial management of economic processes; mechanisms for implementing social and economic policies in the context of reforms; mechanisms for territorial (spatial, urban) planning and regional management; quantitative and qualitative methods, as well as geographic information technologies used for territorial management purposes; the system of indicators for identifying problematic territories. To be able to: apply modern approaches for analyzing the effectiveness of territorial management; provide suggestions for improving the efficiency of territorial management; use modern research methods in management systems; analyze the development of territories at different spatial-temporal scales.

Prerequisites and co-requisites
Successful completion of the courses "Spatial Organization Theories", "Contemporary Debates in Human Geography", "Regional Forecasting", and "Applied Economic and Social Geography," as well as proficiency in applying general scientific methods for the development of regional development strategies within the overall system of territorial planning.
Course content
The course is aimed at developing competencies in the use of modern approaches for analyzing the effectiveness of territorial governance, as well as the implementation of regional socio-economic policy. It provides knowledge for substantiating optimal pathways for reforming regional governance and local self-government within the general system of public administration, and for developing proposals for the reform of the administrative-territorial structure, including the forecasting of the potential outcomes of their implementation.

Assessment methods and criteria
The course includes two thematic parts. Classes are conducted in the form of lectures and practical sessions. The course concludes with a final examination. During the semester, after the completion of each respective module, written modular tests are administered. The maximum number of points awarded for Thematic Blocks 1 and 2 is 30 points each. The course concludes with a written final examination.
