Learning outcomes
To know: The main goals and functions of science; the possibilities of applying these in the process of conducting research in economic and social geography; the current situation regarding the opportunities for conducting relevant and in-demand scientific research; the peculiarities of intellectual property rights related to completed works. To be able to: Formulate the purpose and main tasks of conducting scientific research; utilize the most modern tools to address the tasks at hand, and apply them effectively in research projects.

Course content
The course "Methodology and Organisation of Scientific Research with Fundamentals of Intellectual Property" is dedicated to studying the conceptual foundations of research methodology and organization, the basics of intellectual property, and the specificities of conducting scientific research in the field of economic and social geography. The course program consists of the following thematic sections: 1. General issues of methodology and organization of scientific research. 2. Fundamentals of intellectual property. 3. Organization of scientific research in the field of economic and social geography.

Lectures, seminar sessions, discussions, consultations throughout the semester, independent work
Assessment methods and criteria
Evaluation methods: written control work, seminar presentations; defense of individual creative assignments; exam. Current (semester) assessment: seminars (minimum score 24, maximum 40); control works (6–10); independent work (5–10). Final assessment in the form of a written exam: score for theoretical knowledge (minimum 12, maximum 20 points); score for practical part (13–20 points).
