Learning outcomes
To know: The subject, methods, and theoretical foundations of research in professional and corporate ethics in applied studies; the principles and key norms of professional and corporate ethics; the role of professional and corporate ethics in the development of researchers in urban and natural environments; the characteristics of professional codes in business practices of researchers and managers.
To be able to: Explain the specifics of the main types of professional ethics and ways to overcome the gap between general moral principles and the requirements of the core principles in regional management and development; assess the value aspects of the mission of professional and corporate codes in urban and regional practices, etc.

Prerequisites and co-requisites
1. To know the main stages of the development of ethical thought; methods of philosophical research, methods of psychology, and key ethical-philosophical concepts and categories.
2. To be able to collect and interpret information on dilemma issues of professional and corporate ethics in professional activity; apply the main methodology of imperative-value aspects of professional practice.
3. To possess elementary research skills and integrated scientific research information and information management; critical thinking and forecasting regarding specific political, economic, cultural-professional events; using foreign-language professional informational sources.
Course content
The course systematically examines the characteristics of the development and establishment of professional and corporate ethics and their relevance in modern professional practices. It defines the subject, objectives, theoretical foundations, methodologies, and key concepts of professional and corporate ethics. The course clarifies the features of developing practical skills/abilities for decision-making in ethical behavior in dilemma situations of professional activity. Using scenarios of workplace situations in natural research institutions and organizations, students learn to predict the effectiveness of production activities and the potential occurrence and prevention of problematic situations when they arise in groups of higher, middle, and lower-level workers. It emphasizes the application of acquired knowledge for the rational use of available production resources, the ability to foresee psychological environments in challenging conditions of field research expeditions, including in remote areas and places with harsh climatic conditions, their organization, equipment and material supply, fieldwork, and other types of activities within teams with significantly different professional and general intelligence.

Assessment methods and criteria
Assessment of semester work:
1. Oral report, contributions, and participation in seminar discussions: 20 / 35 points.
2. Independent work (situational analysis/essay) and (research on leadership principles): 26 / 37 points.
3. Test tasks: 2 / 8 points.
4. Final written test: 12 / 20 points.
Final assessment in the form of a credit: The total number of points for the course (maximum 100 points) is determined as the sum of points for systematic work throughout the semester, including the final written test. The credit is awarded based on the student's work throughout the semester and does not involve additional evaluation methods.
