Learning outcomes
To know: the essence of contemporary approaches to the conceptualization of human-geographical research; the fields of application for modern quantitative and qualitative methods in human-geographical studies. To be able to: apply conceptual approaches from human geography and urban studies to research contemporary processes of urban and regional development; analyze current processes of urban and regional development using modern quantitative and qualitative research methods; conduct a review and summary of literature related to the topic of scientific research; interpret the results of scientific research; visualize the results of scientific research; present the results of scientific research; develop a poster based on the results of scientific research.

Prerequisites and co-requisites
to have foundational knowledge of the theory and methodology of human geography, the methodology and organization of scientific research, geography of risks and sustainable development, and urban and regional development management. to be able to apply the methodological foundations of contemporary concepts of urban and regional development in practice. to be able to analyze human-geographical processes, identify their specific features and causes, and assess their consequences. to possess proficiency in modern quantitative and qualitative research methods, with the ability to apply them in scientific and research activities.
Course content
The academic discipline "Research Project in Human Geography" is dedicated to acquiring practical skills in scientific research activities and the design of academic work.

Assessment methods and criteria
The discipline consists of two thematic modules, each of which is concluded with a thematic control assignment and includes a final assessment in the form of a credit. The results of students' academic activities are assessed on a 100-point scale (the grade is calculated as accumulated). Throughout the course, continuous assessment of students' performance on seminar tasks and independent work is conducted. Continuous assessment is carried out during seminar sessions and aims to evaluate the level of knowledge acquisition and the student's preparedness to independently complete individual tasks related to the discipline.
