Learning outcomes
To know: the essence of multi-scalar spatial development; contemporary concepts of spatial regionalization; the nature of spatial development disparities; modern concepts of spatial polarization; the essence of the complexity of spatial development; current concepts of cluster-network spatial organization; the nature of subjective spatial perception; and contemporary theories of spatial perception. To be able to: apply the methodological foundations of modern concepts of spatial organization in practice; assess the severity of urban and regional development issues; conduct a comprehensive evaluation of the consequences of these development problems; and develop urban and regional development strategies based on the principles of contemporary spatial development concepts.

Prerequisites and co-requisites
to have foundational knowledge of the theoretical and methodological principles of human geography.
to be able to analyze economic and social processes in society, identify their specific characteristics and causes, and evaluate the consequences of economic, social, and environmental problems in regions.
to possess proficiency in contemporary quantitative and qualitative research methods, and the ability to apply them in scientific and research activities.
Course content
The academic discipline "Spatial Organisation Theories" is devoted to the study of contemporary concepts of spatial organization, including theories of spatial regionalization, spatial polarization, cluster-network spatial organization, and spatial perception.

Planned learning activities and teaching methods
Lectures, seminar sessions, presentations, problem-solving of specific tasks and situations, independent work
Assessment methods and criteria
The course consists of two thematic modules. Classes are conducted in the form of lectures and seminar sessions. The course concludes with a final examination.
Semester assessment: the number of points a student receives during the semester is the sum of points earned through participation in seminar sessions and the completion of thematic control assignments.
Assessment structure: participation in seminar sessions is evaluated based on performance in accordance with the seminar schedule. Thematic control assignments are conducted in the form of tests.
