Prerequisites and co-requisites
To successfully master the knowledge of the discipline, students must: have basic knowledge of the theory and methodology of social geography, methodology and organization of scientific research, geography of risks and sustainable development, management of urban and regional development; apply methodical foundations of modern concepts of urban and regional development in practice; to be able to analyze socio-geographical processes, identify their features, causes and evaluate consequences; to possess modern quantitative and qualitative methods of research, to be able to apply them in scientific and research activities.
Course content
Conceptualization of the object of scientific research. Review and review of literature on the topic of scientific research. Justification of the feasibility of using quantitative and qualitative methods of socio-geographical and urban studies. Interpretation of the results of scientific research. Visualization of the results of scientific research. Preparation and publication of scientific works based on the results of scientific research. Presentation of the results of scientific research. A poster based on the results of a scientific study.

Seminar classes, scientific discussion, solving situational problems.
Assessment methods and criteria
The discipline consists of two substantive parts, each of which ends with a thematic control work and provides for a final control in the form
offset. Current control of the discipline is carried out during seminar classes and aims to check the level of knowledge assimilation and the student's readiness to independently perform individual tasks in the discipline. According to the evaluations of the current control and the results of the thematic control works, the sum of points is set for a separate content part. Students who scored a total of less points than the critical calculation minimum (40 points) for both substantive parts must complete an additional independent task in order to be admitted to the credit. Final (semester) control of students' knowledge of the discipline - credit.
The maximum number of points based on the results of the assessment is 20 points.
