Form of study
Prerequisites and co-requisites
1. Successful mastering of the academic discipline "Contemporary Debates in Human Geography".
2. Knowledge of key theories and research approaches in regional studies.
3. Ability to apply basic methods of regional research.
Course content
The academic discipline provides an in-depth study of quantitative, qualitative and mixed approaches in regional studies. In particular, it is devoted to studying the features and techniques of applying methods of comparative analysis, analysis of large data sets, econometric methods and models, forecasting methods, methods of Bayesian statistics, methods of social network analysis and methods of non-representative theory in regional studies. This discipline designed to train specialists capable of conducting complex analytical studies of regional development.

Planned learning activities and teaching methods
Lectures, practical classes, independent work.
Assessment methods and criteria
During the semester, there is an oral survey, defenses of completed practical works, as well as one written test. The final assessment involves a written exam. Assessment is carried out during the semester of all types of work, including independent work. Learning outcomes, provided they are mastered at the appropriate level, are evaluated as follows:
1. Verification and defense of practical works - from 23 to 35 points.
2. Oral survey - from 2 to 5 points.
3. Written test - from 9 to 20 points.
