PR06. Apply modern models and information technologies for research and development in the field of geography, nature management, urban and regional development.
PR08. Conduct research on natural and socio-geographic manifestations of the development of geosystems in complex and unpredictable conditions, forecast their development, analyze alternatives, assess risks and likely consequences.
Form of study
Prerequisites and co-requisites
To successfully acquire knowledge from the discipline "Creative cities", students must:
have basic knowledge of public geography, social geography, economic geography;
to be able to analyze social and economic processes in society, identify their features, causes and evaluate consequences;
to possess modern quantitative and qualitative methods of research, to be able to apply them in scientific and research activities;
to be able to apply modern principles of sustainable development for drawing up strategic plans and programs for the socio-economic development of cities and regions.
Course content
This academic discipline is devoted to the study of the theoretical and methodological foundations of the study of creative cities, the creative class and the creative economy as modern strategies for the development and management of cities that are comfortable for life.
The course includes 2 content parts:
Part 1. Theoretical foundations of the study of the creative city
Part 2. Creative cities: practical aspects of formation and development

Planned learning activities and teaching methods
Lectures, seminar classes, independent work, discussion, presentation, solving specific problems and situations.
Assessment methods and criteria
The number of points that the student receives during the semester is the sum of the points that were obtained during the evaluation of work in seminar classes and the performance of thematic control works. Organization of evaluation: Work in seminar classes is evaluated according to performance, in accordance with the schedule of seminar classes. Thematic control works are conducted in test form. The final evaluation in the form of credit is conducted in written format. The maximum number of points during crediting is 40, the minimum number of points added to semester credits is 24 (60% of the maximum number of points allocated for crediting).
