Course content
This academic discipline is devoted to the study of the essence, stages and mechanism of modeling in geography, the advantages and disadvantages of modeling, the concept of models, their classification, formalization, modern directions of modeling in geography, methods of construction, study and use of multi- and single-factor mathematical and statistical models, behavioral models, including the use of expert assessment methods, features of modeling of placement and spatial interaction, nonlinear modeling. It is designed to form in students strategic ideas about the methods of modern modeling of spatial structures and processes.

Planned learning activities and teaching methods
Lectures, practical classes, individual work
Assessment methods and criteria
Semester assessment: the number of points that a student receives during the semester is the sum of the points that were obtained when evaluating work in practical classes, during oral questioning and performing thematic tests. Assessment organization: Work in practical classes is assessed according to the results of performance, in accordance with the schedule of practical classes. Thematic tests are carried out in written format. Learning outcomes, provided they are mastered at the appropriate level, are assessed as follows: 1. Verification and defense of practical work - from 24 to 35 points. 2. Oral questioning - from 2 to 5 points. 3. Thematic tests - from 10 to 20 points.
